Batch Gasifier System
Waste Types
There are few systems, that are as versatile and easy to operate as the BOSTM. Nor waste pre-treatment is required and its modular design makes it suitable for small projects of just a few tons per day, up to larger municipal projects of 240 tons per day or more. Some examples of acceptable solid waste types are provided below:

  • Untreated Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
  • MSW with organic fraction removed for composting
  • Biomass
  • Industrial packaging wastes
  • Industrial process wastes
  • Off-spec products
  • Mixed waste plus tires
  • Mixed waste plus dried sewage sludge
  • Mixed waste plus oils
  • Clinical wastes
  • Animal remains
  • Biomass wastes
  • Oily absorbent wastes

Most combustible wastes are acceptable as long as they meet specifications for moisture content. Average moisture content of waste treated by the BOS should not exceed 40%. Wet wastes can be mixed with dry wastes in order to meet this requirement. Otherwise, additional drying equipment must be installed to partially dry the wet waste prior to BOS treatment. We have access to a relatively low cost technology to densify and dewater a variety of wastes and this can substantially improve the efficiency of the system.
